The CRAB MAX crab trap is innovative by design and easy to use. The Crab Max is so easy to use it is a great way to introduce your children to crabbing. The CRAB MAX is a proven folding crab trap that outperforms conventional crab rings and other folding crab traps when crabbing from docks. Crab catch capacity is the measure that separates the Crab Max from other folding crab traps like the Crab Hawk, Sporty Crab Trap and the Danielson Folding Crab Trap. The overall 18 inch dimensions of the Crab Max separates the Crab Max from other similar traps. The 18 inch dimension really pays off when crabbing is hot. It is not unusual to catch 3 or more keeper sized Dungeness crabs per pull.

The CRAB MAX is best used with a 200 pound test Tuna Cord hand line but is readily used with a surf rod and heavy duty spinning reel loaded with a minimum of 80 pound test Spectra fishing line.  Usually the typical crabber can cast the Crab Max further than it can be thrown. Experienced crabbers can throw the Crab Max as far as those using the surf pole can cast the Crab Max. Rasing the Crab Max over submerged objects is the advantage for crabbers using a surf pole over those using the Tuna Cord. I prefer using the Tuna Cord. Bill
