For those of you who desire hands on experience digging clams get a head start digging Bay Clams by attending our Clam Clinic 2012 events. Our Clam Clinics are the ideal way to introduce kids of all ages to the wonders of digging clams. Bill CLAM DIGGING and CRABBING EQUIPMENT We offer the best products available as a convenience for clam diggers and crabbers who do not have access to clam digging and crabbing equipment. Except for abuse our products are fully guaranteed for 24 months from the date of the sale. Oregon does not charge sales tax and orders shipped to other states are shipped sales tax free. The clam shovel we sell is used to dig both bay clams and razor clams. The razor clam shovel is manufactured with a full length handle unavailable at retail outlets and an 11 inch blade offset at the proper angle to take advantage on the method recommended by ODFW's Matt Hunter to dig razor clams from the wet sand. The overall length of our shovel is 56 inches with an 11 inch blade. The standard generic razor clam shovel sold at the big box stores with 9 inch blades and shorter handles sold at Fred Meyer for 29.95 will fall short of your expectations and fails in comparison to the shovel we sell. Harvesting bay clams using a shrimp gun is a recent inovation that is gaining popularity with clam diggers. We now offer shrimp pumps manufactured by H20 Sports for 15.50 at our store while Fred Meyer sells one for 21.45. Every digger that digs bay clams should be equipped with our clam net bag. The net clam bags were designed for bay clams and are ideal for holding and carrying your bay clams from the digging area. The CRAB MAX is best used with a 200 pound test Tuna Cord hand line but is readily used with a surf rod and heavy duty spinning reel loaded with a minimum of 100 pound test Spectra fishing line. Crabbing with the Crab Max using hand lines is user friendly for crabbers of all ages; especially women and children. It is easier for women and children to use the hand line. My grandsons, Brandon age 11 and Zac age 8, have really gotten into crabbing using the Crab Max with hand lines. Bill CLAM WATCH Crab Watch and Clam Watch provide the latest information available on local crabbing and clam digging conditions on the Oregon Coast. The crabbing and clam digging information is contributed by bait and tackle shops, Marina operators and ODFW. Developing our sources of information is an ongoing process in an effort to provide the most accurate information available for taking Oregon's crabs and Oregon's clams. Clam Watch and the Clam Diggers Association of Oregon has started a clam digging and crabbing Forum (Message Board) to broaden the scope of our service to clam diggers and crabbers. The Forum Board will add a new dimension to the ability of clam diggers to relate their experiences to one another. Make you voice heard. Your opinion counts. Blog On!
